SewHope has just completed construction of a new classroom. The local municipality provided transportation of the materials as well as the technical knowledge of a mason. The men from the community put in the manpower! And our donors provided the materials!

SewHope has started a transportation program so that children can continue their education past primary school. The children now realize that if they complete 6th grade, they can actually move on to the next level and ultimately attain gainful employment!
Orfelinda Martinez works with teens to start program
Here are a group of teens who have started an organization to identify and find solutions to the barriers that keep them from furthering their educations. They told us that in order to go to secondary school, they have to walk 4 miles each way in the hot son. Some of them have families with motorcycles but several of them have no means of transportation. SewHope has just purchased bicycles for these teens and we are working with them to further develop this program. In order to successfully attend high school, they are in need of backpacks, books, computer access and uniforms.
