ACADEMIC PROGRAM ASPECTS
SewHope's education program is a half-day after-school program designed as a supplement to the public education system. All public schools are also only half-day programs. Our program is faith based and religion class is part of the curriculum.
Direct InstructionSewHope's full time, certified Guatemalan teachers use direct instruction, small group work, games, crafts, and more to engage all types of learners.

Online CurriculumNot all students fit into a distinct grade level. SewHope employs cutting-edge online curriculums such as Khan Academy and Raz-Kids, which adapts to an individual student's needs.

Public Health LessonsTaking advantage of our beautiful campus, students are taught how to grow and harvest crops and raise chickens. Students' families are invited to take part in at-home projects, which focus on gardening, clean burning stoves, clean water, and raising chickens.

Penpal ProgramSewHope students participate in a PenPal Program with Maumee Valley Country Day students in Toledo, Ohio. There are many aspects of life that transcend linguistic, socioeconomic and cultural differences, such as friendship, family and fun. Through games, drawings, letters and Zoom calls, students form connections with their peers in the United States.
