Sr. Pamela Marie Buganski

“God is always talking to me when I am in Guatemala.”

SewHope has had the incredible fortune of having Sr. Pam join our team as our first full-time employee in Guatemala. Here is what she writes as she is getting ready...

"I have always dreamed of being a missionary.  I believe that it is God’s dream for me.  After twenty-two years of junior high/high school teaching and leadership, and serving for nine years in the administrative position of Provincial Treasurer of the Sisters of Notre Dame, I believe that the time is now.

SewHope has hired me as their first American employee in Guatemala.  It is with great joy that I depart for Guatemala on August 1, 2012.  For the first several months, I will be enrolled in language school in Antigua and perhaps in San Cristobal.  I will connect SewHope with NGOs in these areas while becoming more immersed in the culture.  I will then move up to our region of service in the Peten and live with Ismael and Orfe, SewHope’s Guatemalan employees, and their family in order to gain experience with the people and the ministry.  Once established, I will work with developing and expanding our work in the areas of education, microfinance and technology.  I am completely comfortable in Guatemala and have frequently said:  “God is always talking to me when I am in Guatemala.”

I invite you to follow the work of SewHope and my journey on the website www.sewhope.com.  At the current time SewHope is in the process of building a birthing center in El Chal, equipping a school with computer technology in Purucila, and planning the building of a clinic/center in Santa Ana.

Thank you for your loving support, and I am counting on your prayers!"
